I'm trying to work out how to setup arnold sss sets in gaffer. In the arnold documentation for maya the method is described this way:

" It is possible to tag multiple objects as belonging to the same SSS 'set' so that illumination will blur across object boundaries. A common use-case might be blurring between teeth and gum geometry. It is enabled by adding the constant STRING userdata sss_setname to the same value on the objects in the set.:

However, I haven't been able to work out how to connect the aiUserDataString node into my network.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Francis

Hi Francis,

You can specify `sss_setname` using the Shading section of the ArnoldAttributes node :

I don't think you'll need an aiUserDataString node for this at all - from memory, setting that attribute is all you need to do...
Cheers...
John
