Hi,

Where does Gaffer store backups ?

In general, should one use the more recent backup as suggested by Gaffer ?

Kind regards

It means a backup that is more recent (in terms of modification time) than the current file.

This is configured in the "Gaffer/Preferences" dialogue. It defaults to a `.gafferBackups` directory alongside the `*.gfr` file in question. You can also configure the frequency with which backups are made, and how many backups to keep.

If you have lost some work, then I would open the backup, but if you have deliberately closed a file without saving it, then I would not open the backup. Personally, I don't open the backup unless I have a specific reason to.
