I guess by "this", you mean Gaelyk?
Grails is a full stack web development framework, whereas Gaelyk is more of a lightweight toolkit for developing apps leveraging the Google App Engine SDK and platforms. Grails and Gaelyk are two distinct projects, not particularly intended to run in tandem if that's what you meant. Furthermore, Grails has historically had various issues to properly run on the Google App Engine platform.
