Trend ini dengan cepat diadopsi oleh teman-teman kita sesama pegolf (amatir). Mereka menyewa 'special trainer', melatih otot-otot yang sesuai untuk menjadikan swing makin bertenaga. "Both the LPGA Tour and PGA Tour have fitness trailers that travel to each tour stop. The days of overweight and out-of-shape players are diminishing and making way for toned athletic body styles". Kalimat di atas agak terasa ngeledek gue. Saya paling males ke driving range, suka ogah warming up dan stretching. Akibatnya, sekarang harus datang ke klinik fisioterapi minimal 2 x seminggu. Kebiasaan ini harus diubah secepatnya, termasuk merokok 1 batang tiap hole dan mengorder soto betawi sehabis main :-). Para staff professional di The DuPont Country Club bersama jaringan finess center di seantero Amerika telah 'menciptakan' program kebugaran khusus pegolf segala usia. Program favorit adalah yang menggunakan 'Golf Gym Rubber Band' (GG, a strong rubber band that has a golf grip attached at the end), dan 'Physio Ball' (PB). Duduk di PB memaksa kontraksi otot perut (otot penting bagi pegolf). Sambil duduk di PB, cantolkan GG di pintu. Tarik GG ke arah dada, putar badan atas ke kiri dan kanan. Ulangi 15 x.
