Hi Everyone,
It is rather saddening to hear about the loss of lives and destruction
of properties in Japan due to the earthquake. This would be a good
time to pause and contemplate the frail and impermanent nature of life
and existence.
We can also use this an a good opportunity to practise compassion.
One suggestion would be to conduct Medicine Buddha and/or Buddha
Amitabha prayers (if you know it) or otherwise just contemplate on
their loss and suffering. We can also rejoice in the all the good
deeds being performed by the Armed Forces and various volunteers to
help the victims through this difficult period. Then, we could
dedicate the merits for the benefit of all those who lost their lives,
families and are suffering mental anguish of uncertainty and pain.
In this way, we would have spared a moment from our busy lives to make
it more meaningful.
Sarva Mangalam!
