Hi Carson,

I installed the plugin and tried to attach my analytics account to it and get the following message:

Error gathering analytics data from Google: Error 404 (Not Found)!!1 *{margin:0;padding:0}html,code{font:15px/22px arial,sans-serif}html{background:#fff;color:#222;padding:15px}body{margin:7% auto 0;max-width:390px;min-height:180px;padding:30px 0 15px}* > body{background:url(//www.google.com/images/errors/robot.png) 100% 5px no-repeat;padding-right:205px}p{margin:11px 0 22px;overflow:hidden}ins{color:#777;text-decoration:none}a img{border:0}@media screen and (max-width:772px){body{background:none;margin-top:0;max-width:none;padding-right:0}} 404. That’s an error. The requested URL /analytics/feeds/accounts/default was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

Please try again later.

I cannot do anything after this, and uninstalling and reinstalling is not helping too. Can you please advise?

Thanks,

Manu

It looks like a number of people are seeing this now. I think it could be because the older API is being turned off although they were saying it would continue to run and just return newer responses that the plugin can handle. I'll have to look into it and see if I can find a fix. It will probably require an update to the plugin.

Google changed their API, so unless a coder takes on fixing the plugin, you need to go Google Analytics and get your stats.

Applies to other Analytics Plugins as well.

I have made a change to the plugin that will fix this issue. It may take a little while to get through the plugin system. The fix will require that you use the "forget authentication" option in the options and then follow the login instructions again.

Will this plugin work if you have 2-step authentication set up on your Google account?

Thanks,
Heidi

I believe it will, let me know if it doesn't for some reason.

Glad you are still working on it Carson - I will be more than happy to send donations your way for each site I use the plugin on if you intend to keep it going. I've always prefered your over the other equivalent plugin no longer in development.

No need for that. I have been trying to find the time to update to the very latest version and I didn't realize the URLs were going to change. The thing I'm most worried about right now is the "unregistered application" limits that Google has in place. If the version 3 API enforces them more strictly it would require everyone to go through a lot more work to register the plugin. Hopefully version 2.4 will be around for a while.
