Hello all,
I'm a software developer with CytoGnomix and have been developing a beacon with the intent to join beacon-network.org. I've been implementing our beacon based on the specifications listed here: https://github.com/ga4gh-beacon/specification/blob/master/beacon.md

The specs describe how to implement queries over a range of coordinates using startMin, startMax, endMin, and endMax. I gather this is somewhat of a new development and I was wondering if there is currently a way to utilize these parameters when searching on beacon-network.org? If there is not, is it necessary to for our beacon to handle these parameters? I ask partly because queries over a range of coordinates and especially 'variantType' values ('DUP','INV', etc.) are not overly relevant for our data, the majority of which consists of single nucleotide substitutions.

Hi Ben,

I hope this answer is still relevant for you. The Beacon Network does not currently support queries with startMin, startMax, endMin, and endMax, though we hope to add these features in the future.

But even when we do add these features, your beacon would still be usable for simpler queries within the network.

Cheers,
Max Barkley
