Since launching in January 2023, OMI Europe has helped shape European discussions on competition policy, artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty and the transatlantic relationship. Highlights include several influential reports on AI and cloud computing, involvement in the design and enforcement of key European laws including the Digital Markets Act, research and advocacy on Europe’s digital sovereignty agenda, and a series of high-level events on corporate power, democracy, sovereignty and free speech. We are now looking to expand our research programme by recruiting a full-time Head of Research. The role This role offers the opportunity to shape one of Europe's most influential research agendas on competition, technology and economic power, producing cutting-edge analysis that directly informs policymakers, civil society, and wider public debate. The research will focus on concentration of power in digital markets, the threats that this poses to Europe’s prosperity, sovereignty, and democracy, and credible mechanisms for building more diverse and open markets – including competition enforcement, the Digital Markets Act, and industrial policy. The role may also involve conducting research on other sectors and topics, such as domestic media consolidation and Europe’s reliance on concentrated supply chains for critical raw materials. |
