Georgia Power is mostly "dirty" - they use a limited amount of biomass & nuclear. We plan to spend money on efficiency before spending funds on renewable power that will be at a premium.
Not currently using iPads - but exploring a number of potential applications, (GIS, Utility Survey, Building Documentation, CMMS, etc...)
We are exploring composting. I learned last week that our neighbor Morehouse is composting currently so I am trying to learn more of what they are doing.

Eddie Elsberry ---07/20/2011 11:50:56 AM---Hi all, Thought I would pose a few questions via the Google groups instead of
We don't have iPads in our sustainability office, but here is information on an app for sustainability that someone sent me (I can't vouch for it--I've never used it): http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/greentips/id343820534?mt=8
Our Environmental Health and Safety Office has a compliance app for the iPad, and you can contact that office directly at patty....@emory.edu.
Greenco is the only permitted composting facility in Georgia, and I'm happy to share more info on our experience if you're interested. Unfortunately, Greenco still hasn't found a new site, and have a court order requiring them to leave their current location (due to an odor complaint). We should all collaborate in trying to encourage the state to help find them a new site-- without Greenco, downtown Atlanta's zero waste zone and all of our college and University composting efforts will grind to a complete halt. Maybe a joint letter to the Ga Economic Development Commission? What do you think, Mike? We can't go out on a limb for an individual vendor, but I think we can say that we all have a need for a composting facility and there is a threat to our only option in Georgia. I think the downtown businesses would sign on to it too.

Good Afternoon Art,
Your timing could not be better. We are having an internal call this afternoon to discuss composting in the Southeast. I will provide you with an update after our meeting.
Thanks for thinking of WM.

Waste Management recycles enough paper every year to save 41 million trees. Please recycle any printed emails.

I got an email from Greenco this morning saying that they do not have an alternative location. They have been emailing me regularly asking for help and a statement of support. I’ll circle back with Greenco, but my understanding is that we’re in danger of losing our one permitted site
Waste Management told us last week that they aren’t ready to move forward with composting in Georgia this year. I’d love to know if they are telling any of you something different. Thanks- Ciannat
