There is a group called ‘Ithaca Gardeners’ marching in the Ithaca Festival Parade on the evening of
Wednesday May 29 to highlight all the different gardening volunteer groups and community garden members in Ithaca. I am inviting Master Gardeners, Master Composters,
Citizen Pruners, Beautification Brigade, members of the Ithaca Community Garden, and anyone else who gardens, to march together in the parade. We will also be joined by a group that is marching against Monsanto.
Please wear your favorite gardening hat/togs, bring a tool to brandish or wheelbarrow to push, and if your group has a banner please bring that as well. We’ll have
the Beautification van rolling along with us, and some people can push wheelbarrows of flowers (we can load the wheelbarrows into the Beautification van at the end of the parade to get them back to CCE).
The parade kicks off at 6:30 pm so we will need to be in place before then. Our group is
number 92 and our staging area is on Cayuga Street, between Jay St. and Lincoln St. I will be there at 5:30 pm with the beautification van. Please arrive between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
Send me an RSVP at ca...@cornell.edu if you think you are going to join us, or just show up!
Thanks,

PS- you can also help out by coming to CCE on Tuesday morning to repack Sunflower seeds to distribute during the parade! Contact me at Sapsq...@gmail.com if interested.
