School gardens and youth agriculture projects offer a unique educational opportunity and Tompkins County is rich with successful examples. The Garden Educators Network seeks to bring current and aspiring school garden leaders together to share resources and ideas while building a strong local school gardens movement. You can become part of the discussion and stay up-to-date by joining our google group at https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!forum/garden-educators-network
Learn about starting and sustaining a school garden and how to integrate a school garden into Common Core Curriculum, with Wayne Gottlieb and Audrey Baker. Gottlieb is a 7th grade science at DeWitt Middle School who has used gardens in the curriculum for 14 years; Baker is a Director and co-founder of Wood's Earth, a new farm to school organization in the Ithaca Area.
