Down in Miami, it's Velo Sport Sport season year round with the whole month of December being the peak season.

Don Pan (named from the Venezuelan bakery it departs from) is South Florida's premier training ride.  It's be going on 3 days per week, 52 weeks per year for the past 4 decades. The Don Pan training ride course is a 12 mile loop on the Causeway that connects South Miami and Key Biscayne.

This A plus rated ride has a  turnout anywhere from 50 to 200 or more riders.  This ride rarely stops for anything while the Police look the other way as the peloton rolls thru the red light intersections.

During the weekdays, the Don Pan 1 Lap Sprint ride finish is on the approach to South Miami with field sprint speeds exceeding 45 mph thanks to the ocean tailwind.  Sunday's Don Pan 2.5 Lap ride, finishes on the approach to Key Biscayne with field sprints approaching 40 mph.

This ride is filmed by a least 6 riders who are equipped with the latest video technology (including 360 degree cameras).  This attached video is by Eddy Alvarez who is a Don Pan regular.

Enjoy!

Retro out.
