A rider not in the Don Pan Group was taken out resulting in 5 riders going down.
Apparently most of the peloton were unaware of the crash until they passed EMS on the scene as they rolled by during the 2nd lap.
This time of year is the "Off Season" down in Miami but approx 150 riders still showed up for yesterday's ride.
The Don Pan Ride arguably has some of the fastest 50 year old plus riders in North America. This ride had three 50 plus riders in the top 10 during the final sprint finish.
Crash occurs at 4:50 into the video.
Final Sprint at 1:00:30 followed by Slo-Mo finish line cam.
The Don Pan Ride occurs on the Causeway over the ocean that connects South Miami with Key Biscayne. 1 lap = approx 12 miles. This ride rolls out at 6:30 am, occurs 3 times per week and has been doing so for the past 40 years.
This is the sort of ride you want to do before you age out of the B plus group. Best time to make the pilgrimage to Miami is February and March.
Retro out.
