I'm definitely up for more variety and began to do more of that this past summer season up there. All of the options suggested seem like good ones to me. In addition, taking advantage of gravel and even mountain biking opportunities in the area opens up additional new experiences. There is a lot of good gravel as well as road riding available in southern Indiana, and some good mountain biking in our area. CORA is working hard to expand the trail network.
I also think we could maybe do a better job of mixing up our local routes. No complaints here, but we do seem to ride Beer Bottle and Six County an awful lot. Heck, it requires arm twisting just to get people to ride the Blue Doobie 50! There are plenty of other options farther east that we rarely ride. We could even meet at a point farther up the LMBT at South Lebanon or Morrow to ride farther east, perhaps even to Yellow Springs. And I'm always up for some gas station donuts!🍩
Traveling options in North Georgia or North Carolina sound fun as well, and in both there is also plenty of good gravel and mountain biking.
I've thrown out this traveling option in prior years because it is a personal favorite, but for those interested in gravel, the Dirty Pecan in Monticello Florida in early March is hard to beat. Distances ranging from 40 to 200 miles, self supported, entry fee $25, and some of the best red clay roads anywhere. Monticello is a cool little town with plenty of options for inexpensive accommodations. It's a bit of a drive from Cincinnati but with a couple of drivers not that big of a deal. A straight shot down I 75.
Lots of fun things to do– – we just need to do them! Cheers.
I’m in Gerry for riding in different areas as well. As Gary so kindly offered on our behalf , riding out from our lake house in Brown County has a lot of fabulous opportunities plus food and swimming as well.
