I got out early-7:45ish- and rode for 3 hours. The headwinds weren’t great but not bad given today’s wind predictions. The tailwinds were awesome! Sorry I missed the group ride and I hope everyone had fun.

Any other reports?

The headwinds we faced headed southbound on the Mason Shared Used Path in front of P&G were strong enough to keep us from spinning out our 1X MTBs on the decent down to Irwin Simpson Rd.

Saw road cyclist headed west on Socialville-Foster Rd leaning into the wind so as not to get blown over at approx 1:45pm.  After seeing that I decided against riding my Moto later this afternoon.

Retro out.

We were strategic in the roads we took on the way back to limit the headwind but where we were in the open it was pretty hard and there were  only 3 of us (Kim, Bob and myself)

Saturday what’s a beautiful day to ride and there was a large group that showed up for Sean‘s posting. Yes there was some significant heads wind.    Unfortunately, there were some spirited riders  upfront on the initial lead out, which caused the group to split up right away.  A group of five of us communicated  to Sean that we would split early and the group didn’t need wait for us.  I had a medical issue pop up about a third way into the ride and I opted to turn back early and chief Steve decide to escort me back to Loveland. Steve decided to add a few more loops when we got to Loveland and I biked home to Montgomery.

Yeah, sorry about that guys. I am usually a pretty optimistic guy and feel it is great when the whole Cincy Cycling community can ride together whenever possible. Unfortunately, with the race season lasting long into the summer with gravel races, there is just too much of a speed disparity to keep these rides together, especially climbing out of Loveland. I am glad you all found each other and rode together. To maintain the spirit of unity, I will continue to post the Off Season Bike League rides here on G4B. I still think that if folks meet up with us on Grog Run by riding a little ahead, then they might be able to hang with the big pack through the flats. But no pressure to join. I know from many years past experience that riding is not as much fun when you are hanging on for dear life. Cheers.  -S
