Trail Mail

Trail Closures:

Who to Contact

As we have noted, the trail maintenance season is in full swing. It is important to contact the correct park office that manages each section of the trail to verify closures and construction dates.

For the Little Miami Scenic Trail, from Hedges Road in Xenia to Avoca Park in Cincinnati, contact the Little Miami State Park at 513-897-3055 (This is a correction from the Trail Mail April issue)

For the Little Miami Scenic Trail, from Avoca Park in Cincinnati to downtown Cincinnati, contact the Great Parks of Hamilton County at 513-521-3980.

Trail Closures:

Current Projects

These are the current local maintenance projects with estimated construction dates.

South Lebanon Sanitation Project - affects LMST from Stubbs Mill Road south to the Lebanon Spur. At times the spur may be impacted also. Construction dates are from June 2026 - July 2027.

LMST Repaving - affects from the Lebanon Spur to MM 37, north of Fosters Trailhead. May also impact south of Fosters for repair work. Construction dates from April 22 - May 1.

Bass Island - affects the trail and parking lot from US 50 to the Little Miami Golf Center entrance. Construction dates from April 21 - May 1.

It’s great to see the repaving part of it.

Hopefully the work from Stubbs Mill to Lebanon spur will mean they repave that also. That’s probably the worst section. They don’t mention repaving that part.

Repaving is funded by parks projects and private donation.  With state and federal park funds being eliminated by the current White House, now it’s mostly private donations.

Friends of the little Miami trails pavement projects is one of my annual donations.    Rick McKenzie and myself have a tree root bump named after ourselves.

Many years ago when I lost my religion, I redirected my tithes and offerings from the Church to the Friends of the Little Miami State Park.

I consider Simeon (former owner of the Corwin Peddler) who is the founder of FLMSP to be the patron saint of the Little Miami Bikeway.  If it weren't for him, portions of the Bikeway would have been closed by now.  I think of him every time a cut a check to the FLMSP.

Retro out.
