Microsoft C++ exception: G3D::G3DString<64> Exception on Starter Sample

Hello,

I installed G3D first time today. I can't make Starter Sample work. While running the solution I get an unhandled exception error in Scene.cpp.

"Unhandled exception at 0x00007FFE1CA34FD9 in starterd.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: G3D::G3DString<64> at memory location 0x000000D45B8FAA50."

I searched it in the group but I couldn't find a solution. I'll share my log.txt separately to keep this message clean.

Hello again, after long hours of poking around I quit trying and went to sleep. Initially, I used installg3dwin.hta for automated Windows installation. This morning I sat down and read other user's messages about starter template. The common solution for different problems among installg3dwin.hta installations was reinstalling with manual install method. Automated installation already set up/checked my Python,  SVN, Visual Studio and environment variables. Why not go ahead and do the SVN checkout manually? I did SVN checkout manually and build using "buildg3d local" command. It worked, now I can run starter sample. I'll leave the log.txt below anyway for contributors/developers.

Glad you figured it out! 

In case anyone sees this in the future, those types of exceptions when searching for a scene are usually due to the environment variables telling G3D where to search for scenes not being set up as needed. The manual process includes setting that, but the .hta may have not been able to set the environment variable.

While the environment variable method is the preferred one for G3D in general, it is also possible to set the correct search paths in the Visual Studio configuration for your project, though you'd need to set it again on every new project you create. I believe the sample includes VS configuration that uses the assumed environment variables.
