Annoying SMS Issue - New Message Drops You To Bottom Of Thread

Hello,

I am a member of some text messaging groups, which can tend to have a
high volume of messages, and remain fairly active, with new messages
coming in continuously. Since the G1 drops you to the bottom of a
thread when any message is received, this makes it very difficult to
read a long (50 - 400 message) thread without having to constantly
navigate back up to the last place you were before a message arrived..
It's extremely annoying!

Anyone else have issues with this and find a workaround? Any help is
greatly appreciated..
