Below letter from the President:

To,
ASTRO officer incharge of Indian section.

Dear Sir /Madam,
ASTRO have disappointed and betrayed the Telugu viewers once again.
The Telugu community with at least 3000 subscribers to our knowledge had been waiting eagerly for a Telugu Channel. In a meeting with Vanavil officer Mr. Rajamani and Telugu Association officials last year, he has given a positive note on having a dedicated Telugu channel once the MEASTAT 3  is launched.

But our patients we were greeted with a big disappointment. It is truly a big let down for the Telugu community.
To make things worse, the airing time for Telugu programs is changed to weird hours except for the Sunday 4.00 pm movie slot. The Telugu serials are good ,but instead of 30 minutes ,the actual serial only last 20 minutes only.
Can somebody from ASTRO responsible enough to answer ,why Telugu Viewers are side lined? Why there is so much discrimination when come to Telugu progammes? What wrong we have done to get this type of third rated treatment from ASTRO Indian section?

Dr.Achaiah Kumar Rao.

Below is my letter to Malay Mail:

Dear sir,

I would appreciate very much if you could highlight the below matter to astro:

I am a Malaysian Telugu citizen. TV has been part of our daily lives where we spend almost 10% of our time watching it. As a Telugu, I would like very much to listen and hear the language more than any other languages. I have been subscribing astro for some time now hoping to watch Telugu programs daily. But, unfortunately it is decreasing day by day. It really discouraged me now as the subscription is increased 15% and I still do not see any improvement.

2. And most of the time, the Telugu programs are victimized especially when there is special occasion. Telugu programs are so negligible and they are replaced with special programs (non-Telugu). Why Telugu programs?

3. Telugu movies and Telugu programs are accessible easily and they are ample. There is no reason why astro cannot increase the number of Telugu programs and the air time.

Thanks and regards,

VIJAY

Below letter from Lachmana Rao:

To

Dr. Achaiah Kumar Rao

Telugu Association Of Mlaysia

HQ

Dear Sir,

We should do something firmly about Telugu channel in astro.

My Suggestion

Call the entire branch Chairman, Secretary, Youths Chairman and Secretary for a meeting.

Tel them to inform all their area Telugus that HQ going to write to astro CEO that if astro not going to give Telugu channel, all Telugu astro subscribers will suspend astro. Give astro a time frame (1 or 2 months). This time period will help all TAM branches and Youths to gather and get informed the massage.

If astro fails to respond, we will suspend astro.  If still not bothered, than all of as TERMINATE astro.

Let’s see, if 10,000 suspend calls goes on a single day, which makes up to approximately (RM0.5Million per month revenue). Astro will defiantly feel the pinch.

When MiTV started, astro was so panic and warried of loosing Telugu and Malayalam subscribers.

Astro was advertising that there will be a Telugu and Malayalam channel on astro. After MiTV faded off,

Astro sowing its through colors which means, treating us as a 2nd class Indian. (taking us for a ride)

Currently you and your team are doing things fantastic. Furthermore our present youths are very powerful and doing projects amazingly. Now Malaysia Telugu Association is recognized nationwide

of their activities. Therefore, I have a very strong feeling that we can achieve this.

If you think our people have no time to call astro on this matter, The TAM branches can also act on behalf them. Distribute pre-prepared forms to all the branches. Ask the branches to get the form

signed by the subscriber and we call astro on behalf the subscriber.

I’ have received a letter from astro saying that there is an increase in astro subscription. Please see my attached (PDF) comments to astro.

Dr, If you have better idea, please advice…………………

Jai Telugu Thalli.

REF: ASTRO TELUGU PROGRAMME

I am referring to the above matter,

Its been more than 4 years I am subscribing  Astro channel. I like to bring to your attention on dissatisfaction on Telugu programme, being decreased from time to time.

This matter I have asked to Astro Vanavil (Indian Department) many times and many Telugu subscribers  request to Vanavill to air more Telugu programme but till today no proper answer from them.

The Vanavill have taken Telugu subscriber to ride and our request being rejected for many years, without reasons.

Telugu subscriber are still paying for the same amount with none Telugus but charged extra for no reason.

I hope the Malay mail will highlight this matter for others attention.

My humble request to MalayMail paper to put hot line colum for Vanavill to realise our request.

There are more 10,000 Telugu subcribers who requesting for Telugu Channel in astro (Vanavil)
Thank you,

ADR NAIDU

I personally do not think all this efforts will get us the desired results. Perhaps, a more effective approach
I believe, is to find out who Dr. Rajamani's boss is and either make a formal appearance before him/her
or meet him/her outside the office and make known our disappointments and frustrations.
