Hi,

So far there haven’t been any thunderbolt NVM images posted publicly to LVFS for any vendors that I’m aware of.  I’ve gotten feedback from a lot of people asking where the images are for Dell?

There’s some internal stuff I’m working through on this to make it happen seamlessly and automatically, but in the interim I have generated CAB files for all the NVM images posted to the Dell eSupport catalog.

I’ve posted them to the “testing” remote on LVFS.  I did a quick smoke test on one of the machines here, but I’d like some more feedback before promoting them to stable.

Testing them requires running on kernel 4.13 or later and fwupd 0.9.7 or later.

If you run on kernel 4.13 or 4.14 you’ll need to have a Thunderbolt device plugged into your Type-C port to update.

If you run on 4.15-rcX and fwupd 1.x there is some special logic in place that would power up the thunderbolt controller even if nothing is plugged in.

I’d love any feedback, positive or negative.  Positive would be great so that they can be promoted from “testing” though 😊

Thanks,
