Hello. I am looking for a fun running group close to the southwest
side of Ft. Worth. I would like to join a group that does weekend
runs. Any groups (or tips) would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hey Jennifer,

There are a couple of groups, at least, that start from the Panera/
Hoffbrau parking lot on Saturday mornings. That's just south of the
I30 and University Dr intersection. What pace are you looking for?
We typically do around 10 mile courses on the weekends.

Hello!

Both my boyfriend and myself run at a comfortable 9 minute pace. While I could stand to do 10 mile long runs on the weekends, I don't think he has built up that kind of endurance yet. Are there any runners who don't run all 10 of the miles? Perhaps we could run one loop, for instance. What time do y'all meet?

Thanks for answering my post, by the way. :)

Hey Jennifer, I run with FW running Co (fwrunco.com). We meet on Mon,
tues, thurs, and Sat. They are having info sessions right now for the
next training group that starts in May. They have pace groups for all
levels and the coaches are great!

Good morning! That sounds great. My boyfriend is the one who lives in FW (I live wayyyy over in Plano) so weekend running is our primary time. Please let me know times/ dates for the info sessions. Thank you for replying. :)

For Plano, this might be of use: http://planopacers.org/area_resources/

For Fort Worth, as Frogolio mentioned, there are at least two large
groups ("Ranch View Gang" = ~10 miles & ~9:00/mi pace; and "Running
Family" = not sure of their exact distance and pace but are slower/
shorter than RVG) that meet at 7:00 AM at Panera/Hoffbrau on
University.

Is it too late to join this group for weekend runs?
I'm getting married and will be in Fort Worth permanently end of May.
I'm training for a full so would love to jump in on some group runs so
I'm not logging all those miles alone. I would say my long run pace is
anywhere from 9:30s to 10 mpm. Let me know if anyone has a
suggestion.

Thank you! Kelley

You actually need to check with Fort Worth Running Company, I have cc'd
Coach Jim in this email and he will get back to you. He usually works
afternoons so look for an email later today! Elizabeth

Hi Liz,

Do you have Jims email? I'm trying to get in with a group as well. I
recently paid my FWRC dues and am now just trying to find a group. I
got an email from Sam about group meetings and the upcoming 10K but
still cant find any info on the groups. Thanks!

For Coach Jim, try the FWRCo store at (817) 731-1760. They can get
you in touch with him.

Also, for weekend runs, check out http://www.fwrunners.org/PlacesToRun.html
... and also don't forget about the folks from the FW runners club
that get together on weekends (usually Saturdays) at the Panera/
Hoffbrau parking lot on University Dr. in FW. Rather than post their
e-mails here, shoot an e-mail to webm...@fwrunners.org and ask for
the POC for Ranchview Gang and the Running Family.

Shoot, e-mails don't show up here. Ok, go to the fwrunners.org site
and send a message to the webmaster for the contact info...

FWRC doesn't officially start the next running program until May 9th.
In th epast there have been people that start the group a few weeks
into it, so I odn't think that they would have a problem with starting
at the end of May/beginning of June. Jim's son James also works at
the store and helps run the program, so you can talk to either one of
them if you call the store. Hope to see you all out there!
