Hi Freelancers,

I'm Kiki, a mother with two teen age daughters, a loving hubby who follows those two girls as much as possible (boy patrol he calls it), and about 3 months ago I learned about freelance writers and that people who run websites will pay for all the content that goes on the site or blogneed. And that's a lot, I guess. I've only had one client in those 6 months, and he was my husband's fantasy football competitor or friend or whatever it's called. I wrote one post a week and he paid $25 for 500 word blogs. Mostly reviews of all kinds of software and Android apps. Just last week he called and told me that there was no more money in the budget for content. So my only income from writing is already gone and that's the short and sweet of my writing experience so far.....

Well I guess I am interested in FCCO because I want to learn everything I can about Freelance Writing and how or where to find clients or get jobs....I want help getting jobs... I hope that's not selfish. I don't know anything that I could provide the co-op as far as a service but I will once I learn. Well, I know Excel fairly well maybe I could make some spreadsheets for tracking income or whatever someone needs specifically. And I think the co-op idea is really smart. Volunteering and bartering your service almost like a form of currency? That's pretty cool and unique. That's about all the input I have so I am happy to be a member and can't wait to meet everybody!

Hi, Kiki

The fact that you now have experience and writing samples should be a help to you in getting more gigs.

Elance.com has been a good source for me along with marketing companies.

Hi Kiki, welcome to the freelance adventure. There is a lot of work out there; that's the good news! The bad news is that it is very competitive which drives revenue down. One site where I usually get work is http://www.zerys.com/writers/. The work there mostly involves ghostwriting blog posts for various companies. They pay twice a month and steady money is a good thing! I also accept guest posts on my three sites, and although I don't pay, authors can post their Google adsense code on their articles to earn their own revenue. I chose to go that route rather than the "revenue-sharing" model since I'm not cut out to be an accountant ;-)

Hey Kiki!

Sorry for the late reply, things have been beyond hectic. Sounds like you're off to a great start. Kathleen and Kelly both have great advice. I'll post some ideas in the next day or two once I can get out from under this landslide of work that hit suddenly. Anyways, welcome aboard and talk soon!

Hey Kiki,

My wife's name is Kiana and people call her Kiki for short. Cool huh? I found a job today that might be up your alley. Check it, check it, check it out:

Do you love technology? Are you always looking for new software and services to help simplify and protect your digital life?

BackupReview is looking for quality and engaging writers who can blog about the following topics:

-Cloud storage (consumer or enterprise)
-Online backup services
-"Offline" backup software
-Mobile apps to synchronize, backup, and store files in the cloud

Requirements:

-Native English speakers only, please
-Experience with cloud storage services (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)
-Experience with Wordpress (you'll be uploading and formatting posts with it)
-A desire to help and inform others
-Articles must be well-researched, with screenshots for the software/service in most cases

The types of articles will be mostly how-to's, software recommendations, and app reviews. Technical writing experience is highly recommended. I'm also looking for a news editor who can write time-sensitive news articles. If you'd like to apply for that position please mention it in the application.

Keywords and topics will be provided for you, along with a due date for each article. The workload will be 3-4 articles per month. You're also welcome to pitch topics for articles.

Here are some examples of titles I'm looking for: "Overview of SurMD's HIPPA Compliant Cloud Storage," "AirFile Combines All Your Cloud Storage Accounts Into One," "How to Restore Previous Versions of Files with Google Drive," etc...

I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks to everyone who applied last time.

Hey Big Kelly,

I'd do some guest posting on your sites. What are the niches?

Wow!

You all are so nice! Thank you Kathleen and Kelly for your advice, I will definitely follow it. Michael, my real name is Kanela. Is your wife Hawaiian? My name is Hawaiian and the only time I have heard Kiana is in Hawaii.

Anyways, thanks again you all. I will be looking at Elance and the Zerys site tonight.

Kelly, I would be interested in guest posting on your blog..... if you're still open to that.

Ok thanks bye bye ;)
