The complications were more to do with difficulty in procuring the car
while my wife is heading out of town, and I was way too tired to
figure out a solution.
We did pretty good on the Sun Run. She managed to run it non-stop and
did it in the 1:15 range. I had to take a short walk break at around
7km because my knee was bugging me, but managed to finish under 1:30.
According to the placing in the paper, she was just before 50% and I
was just after 50%. We made the mistake of starting at the back and
had to run through walking people the entire 10k.. won't be making
that mistake again!
A few weeks ago I picked up a pair of FiveFingers
(
http://vibramfivefingers.com/products/products_KSO_m.cfm) and I've
been learning to run in them. There's about a month long adjustment
period before your feet are strong enough to support themselves, but
it's going great so far. I'm hoping to do the Sun Run in them next
year, and hopefully in under an hour.
