Dear all,

No news is good news ( hopefully ) so let me update you on the latest.

Before anything else, I'd like to welcome Giancarlo Colombo
<https://twitter.com/GiancarloGC> , whom I have invited to join the
FLNW list. He contacted me yesterday on behalf of ABED (The Brazilian
Association for Distance Education) and is willing to give us a hand
by looking for funding for the project. He is definitely more
experienced in this area than I am and I hope to learn from him.

We can all discuss here openly how ABED can help us make this project
come together in Brazil . Professor Litto, ABED president, will be
traveling to Australia to visit some universities so it would be
interesting to establish contact with what is on their mind and
whether our interests can or not converge.

I managed to get Michael Coghlan's sponsored by AIE to come for
Braztesol (from 19th to 22nd) and am trying to cover Vance's stay here
for the same event out of the EduTech SIG kitty, provided I get from
Braztesol what is long due.
