DairyNZ has organised for the AMS Discussion Group to visit the two commercial AMS pastoral dairy farms operating in the South Island on November 26^th and 27^th, and we would like to extend this invitation to you. The visits will involve a farm walk, viewing of the dairy layout and a discussion time for each property. To get maximum benefit from this trip we are taking the opportunity to visit one or two other farming operations as time allows. The itinerary will be as follows:

1. Meet at the Domestic baggage claim area at Christchurch airport at 9am on Thursday 26^th November.

2. Arrive at Stradbrook at 10:30am. Visit will include viewing the dairy, a farm walk and a discussion time in the office area.

3. Mystery farm visit if we have time.

4. Back to Christchurch airport, taking flight NZ8069 to Invercargill departing at 6:05pm. Please ensure you book the correct flight.

5. Dinner at the Emberz restaurant at Ascot Park Hotel and discussion of the Greenfield Project results for the 08/09 season (production systems comparison). Attendees are welcome to dine elsewhere if wished.

6. Stay the night at Invercargill. DairyNZ staff will be booking into the Ascot Park Hotel (www.ascotparkhotel.co.nz) which has overnight rates ranging from $99 for single/double motel unit to $289 for a luxury Suite room.

7. Leave at 8:30am on Friday to visit the Overgauuw farm. Visit will include viewing the dairy, a farm walk and a discussion time in the office area.

8. Mystery farm visit if we have time.

9. Return to airport to catch the NZ5008 flight departing 4:40pm to Christchurch. Please ensure you book the correct flight. This will allow passengers to take connecting flights to other destinations that evening.

DairyNZ will be booking a minibus to travel to and from the farms for each day, so attendees will not need to arrange rental cars. We ask that attendees contribute to the cost of the rental minibus, to a maximum of $40 per person.
