I have just paid the PMI membership fee of $129 to become a member.

So anyone can please tell me will I get the hard copy of PMBok as well with this membership and if yes then how long will it take to reach at my place.

Also I have submitted the online application for PMP Exam, so any idea how long will it take them to assess the application and giving their approval.

      This is my first communication to all of you since we left the class on 15th and you all might remember that i gave a date of 30th september for my PMP exam , Good news is i cleared the exam today and now PMP certified and want to share the experience that exam was tougher then i thought this might be due to not spent more time to prepare due to office schedules,anyways i pass that phase and its your turn now and like to wish you all the best for that.

Congratulations. It realy feels great to know that someone from our batch is already a PMP.

 

I want to know about the seat availability at the Prometric centre. Actually, I already applied to PMI  2-3 days back, waiting for the reply & ready to appear the exam. But, I was told by Astrowix office that there is no availability in Prometric centre till Novemeber end. Can you suggest anything?

     First of all thanks for the wishes ...

        Kriti you can visit this site and can schedule the exam by yourself as per your convienence i did the same by clicking on schedule exam link(http://securereg3.prometric.com/professionalhome.aspx)  here you can see the dates and time availbility when you can appear for exam but first you need PMI clearence (you will receive one id and through that you can schedule the exam)

Now some tips for exam :-

 

1. The major mistake i did was not gone through the Contract types thoroughly you will find 6-7 questions on that and keep in mind quite number of question came from risk management and procurement management chapter (around 35-40).

2. Read PMBOCK book once though i didn't able to read the complete book due to time constraint but it is good to understand the logics don't try to memorize things just go through this book.

3. Read Astrowix book atleast 3-4 times understand the flow of knowledge areas (i was not able to open the charts due to my kid at home but it will be definitely useful).

4. I scored most in the formula based questions it was quite easy so don't forgot to memorize the formulas.

5. Don't loose cool as in my exam in first 100 question i was only sure of 50% correct as others were from those chapters which i didn't gone through in deep like last two chapters risk and procurement but next 100 questions were not that difficult so you can mark the question if you are not sure instead of spending time and puting more effort to resolve them as paper is lengthy and by the end of exam you will be exhausted .So keep your cool.

6. Astrowix online tests were quite useful paper pattern is almost same you need to complete learning mode test first and also go through the reasons why the answer you attempt is wrong so that you can understand the logic behind putting those questions.there are 4 sets in learning mode and 4 in exam mode .I appeared all the learning spent good time on them and then given two exam sets before appearing for the final exam though astriwx tests are bit easier then PMP exam but you get the feel of questions going to come in exam and that is very useful.

7. Last tip sets are different everytime in PMP exam so all 9 knowledge area chapters are quite important and need to go through all very throughly .Don't try to memorize the inputs/tools/outputs i failed to do so but try to understand what could be the output if i am going to create a WBS and what can be the input .
