Hi guys,
I've set up an issue tracking system for the new DearDiary. If anyone is interested in helping me develop/test the new site I'd very much appreciate it - you can migrate your diary from the old site to the new site using the 'Migrate Diary' link. I'd LOVE it if people could have a look at this process and tell me what they think of it - BUT, don't migrate if you're a Friends Only diary, have private entries, or friends only entries.... They WILL become visible to everyone at this point if you do!

I'd also love it if those people testing would raise issues in the issue tracking system, so please drop me a line and let me know your username and what password you'd like to access the issue tracking system. Please use your DD username, but a a different password.

Give me a yell if you have any questions!

Ta!
Steve

Where is the migrate link?

Where would we be migrating TO?

Would this effect our diary as it is on DD right now?

I'm a little fuzzy on the details as you can see.

;-)

Ah yes, a point well made :-)

http://www.newdd.net

That's the site where you'll find the migrate diary link, and the site in fact which you are migrating to.

It will NOT affect your diary as it it on DD right now. Indeed, at this point I'd recommend you keep using the current DD for your real diary updates and simply use newdd.net as a temporary playground for testing purposes only. Mostly because there's no guarantee the database on newdd.net won't get wiped in the future!

Please mail me privately if you'd like an account on the issue tracking system. I'd LOVE it if people would submit issues as I can use those issues to ensure the development progresses and it stops me wondering 'hmmm, what did I say I would do next?' :-)

Of course, any other questions please do ask!

Steve

Okay, I checked it out. Wow. Learning curves again! I'm okay with it
though, because I know that it will make it easier for us to integrate
into more stuff on the net.

I'll help out with the issue tracking if you like.

What if I set up a new diary for beta testing on the new site and use
that?

Not sure what it will entail , but very happy to help if I can.

Who is all a quiver!

Do you have new registrations disabled on purpose right now?

Perhaps you don't want to GO there just yet eh?

;-)

I tried to migrate my diary to the new site, but nothing happens.

I gave diary name and login, but no dice.

Am I missing something?
