Good Morning Future Growers!

We’ve had a few opportunities come through this week which you may be interested in.

First up is a permanent full time job opportunity for an experienced market gardener at Bridge Community Farm at Better Lives Centre in Ellesmere Port. They are currently recruiting for a grower to develop and manage the harvesting plan for four 90ft poly tunnels, 4 acres of open field and a hydroponics unit. This is a paid role on an attractive salary £17,500 to £25,000 p.a. subject to experience. For the job description visit https://bwgardens.co.uk/current-opportunities and applications and enquiries are to be made to bridge...@gmail.com

Another opportunity is a one day workshop with Kate Collyns and the OGA and hosted by Abbey Home Farm in Cirencester. ‘Business Essentials Workshop for Budding Horticulture Entrepreneurs’ will cover business essentials for starting a business, and attendees will share an organic lunch from the farm, enjoy a farm tour, networking and a Q&A. Tickets start from £19.50 and it’s a great opportunity for someone thinking about setting up a horticulture business, or in the early stages. The full details are attached. Tickets are available for purchase here: https://helmtickets.com/events/4299/business-planning-for-a-horticulture-business-with-kate-collyns

There are also a limited number of bursary tickets available for horticulture apprentices or trainees to the Organic Growers Alliance conference - Organic Matters. The conference is in Bristol on Tuesday 22nd October and full info is on the OGA website: https://organicgrowersalliance.co.uk/organic-matters/ Bursary tickets are £15 to enquire about a ticket, please email he...@organicgrowersalliance.co.uk

Keep an eye on the Future Growers Facebook Page and please get in touch if there’s any opportunities that may be of interested to the Future Growers network.

Many thanks

Hannah
