Hi there, i've not been able to find an existing solution to this, but
apologies if i've missed it!

I can't wrap JDBC DSNs or then monitor JDBC activity.
If i try wrapping a DSN, or verify an already wrapped one i get the
following error:
"java.sql.SQLException: FusionReactor JDBC: [6] Wrapper - Driver class
macromedia.jdbc.MacromediaDriver could not be found and loaded.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: FusionReactor JDBC:
[6] Wrapper - Driver class macromedia.jdbc.MacromediaDriver could not
be found and loaded."

I'm running a Multi-Server instance (JRUN4), in a cluster (so i'm
using J2EE session vars). And trying to connect to a MSSQL database on
a seperate server, but same network. The DSN works fine normally, but
i cannot wrap it.

However, after following bits of advice from various posts here and
elsewhere, i found out i can use the wrapping tool if i copy the
fusionreactor.jar from:
{JRUN4}\{instance name}\SERVER-INF\lib\ (installed by FR)
and add it to:
{JRUN4}\{instance name}\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib\
Then restart the server.

With the .jar in both locations, the wrapper tool works fine, and the
DSN verifies, and can be used normally, but FR doesn't show any JDBC
activity!

This has been a problem for a while, but has been relatively low
priority till recently. It was a problem in FR3.5, so i tried un-
installing & re-installing it, 3.5 has now been upgraded to 4.0, and
i've also tried un-installing & installing a fresh copy of that!

CF can see the fusionractor.jar file in 'Java Class Path' and if i add
it to the second location then it also shows up in 'CF Server Java
Class Path' (which basically means the same thing!).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for posting!

I think the issue may be the one described in this technote:

http://www.fusion-reactor.com/support/kb/FRS-240.cfm

The technote talks about MySQL and FR3.5 but I think it may apply in
your case too. It's important that you only have one fusionreactor.jar
file (or in the case of the split jar one of each jar) in your JRun
installation.

Also take a look at the following technote:
http://www.fusion-reactor.com/support/kb/FRS-258.cfm

We are working on solving this problem and have some really neat
solutions in the pipeline.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Darren

Thanks for that clarification, Darren. I just had someone ask me questions
about this very situation today: they're on 3.5, and finding that they would
need to do the split jar solution. They wondered: would FR 4 still need the
split jar solution? If so, it seems it would seem helpful to udpate that
first technote to mention 4 as well as 3.5. (Yes, it says "3.5 and later",
but that could be read to apply to any future 3.x releases.)

Thanks.

Yes, there are cases where this still applies at the moment. I'll
update the technote to reflect that

Thanks,
Darren

Thanks guys, i'll take a look at that technote, and have a go at
implementing over this weekend.

Many Thanks,

Alex
