Hello Fuqua alumni club leaders,
As we exit 2008 and prepare for 2009 I wanted to make you aware of a new resource I've added to the Fuqua Alumni Club Google group.  Following the fall conference call a number of you were asking for specific examples of potential club events.  I've prepared a document (Event_Tips_Club Programming.doc) that provides some suggested guidelines for programming.  The document includes a sample calendar, some pointers for event planning, and some suggestions of different types of events that have been successful for other clubs.

Don't forget other resources are available on the Google group including:
  • Fuqua Logo
  • Email Footer to be used on all email communication sent via the club lists
  • A list of schools that have expressed interest in club partnerships
Also, feel free to use the discussion board to share programming ideas, ask questions about what events have been successful for other clubs, etc.  If you are having trouble accessing the group - let me know.

One final point of business, I'm trying to figure out what clubs have Fuqua banners..  If you have a banner in your possession please email me (katie.t...@duke.edu) by Friday, January 9.

Best wishes as you ring in the new year,
Katie

This is something I'd like to learn more about.  How do you plan on getting individuals to discuss - online discussion boards, webcast, local discussion?  Also, can you give examples of some books.  I think this would be very interesting for Fuqua alumni to engage with other individuals.

Dear Cythia,

In Chicago we launched a LinkedIn Group to provide a space for local
discussions, to keep the Fuqua community informed and to facilitate
meaningful contacts among alumni in the area.

There are currently 52 members in the group and we aim at attracting
the full ~400 alumni in the region. Happy to elaborate.

Hope this helps.
