Hello I am trying to run a model in funwave in which I want to simulate the changes in the free surface of a basin due to a constant wind forcing. My intention is to create a beach profile in FUNWAVE in the form of a rectangular basin with constant flat depth. The dimensions in the input file I have attached are for a basin with (5000 mglob, 4000 nglob dx,1.0 and dy 2.0) and the depth type of flat was chosen for 60m. Sponges were also added at the east, west, and south boundaries to prevent reflection. I also have attached the wind.txt file which represents the wind forcing I want in my simulation which is a constant 10m/s wind in alongshore or v direction. The simulation is run for 1 hour(3600 seconds) generating output every 1 minute (60 seconds). I am experiencing an issue where FUNWAVE is unable to generate additional output after the first file causing me to kill the simulation prematurely. I was wondering if you could take a look at my input.txt,wind.txt, and  executable file (funwave_Adriaitic_1) to see what may be causing my problems. Do I need the meteo flag turned off as well as the wind flag when creating my executable??? This was my first initial thought however I am not sure if you can use one without the other.

Hi Joseph and all,

I am recently looking at a similar problem as you had, that How FUNWAVE-TVD adds the wind effect as a stress term into the source codes. If you have solved your problem already or others have shared their suggestions with you. Please let me know that as well.

Many thanks
jay
