Dear FUNWAVE-TVD Users,

I am currently working on simulating the inner circulation of a port with breakwaters by directly modifying the bathymetry. In my simulations, I observed that some waves break in front of the detached breakwater, especially in rough edges. This breaking and subsequent reflections appear to increase the fluid volume across the entire domain.

I have two questions regarding these issues:

1- Is it possible to avoid wave breaking in these simulations?
2- Is there a way to set a limit to prevent the increase in fluid volume within the domain?

Best regards,

Saeed

The issue may be caused by numerical instabilities due to large bed slopes in your bathymetry. Consider locally smoothing out the bathymetry at the instability spot.
