Hi Brennan,

We are sorry this was not communicated to you earlier but the week after we had our meeting during finals week we received the picture. The penalty coinciding with the infraction is a 10% loss of you canning weekend total. This is ONLY your weekend 2 total. Nothing else will be affected. The first email we sent was explaining how you guys can win back 5% of the 10% lost this second canning weekend. If you would like us to email you the picture in question we can. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hope the end of your break goes well!
For The Kids,
Pierre

I was told that since there was no photographic evidence and we were canning outside of a member's father's workshop, that we were not going to be penalized in any way. Please get back to me with the information regarding any penalties that we suffered because this is different from the conclusion of the meeting that we had with the thon committee.

Thank You,

Hello Brennan,

I hope you’re enjoying your semester break and are looking forward to the upcoming Canning Weekend.  I know you just recently received a phonecall from me, so here’s an email further explaining what I talked about in my phone call or voicemail.

After feedback from the last Canning Weekend, we have decided to offer your organization an opportunity to regain half of your canning weekend total that was lost.

In order to regain this, there are a few steps that we will require you to take prior to the third canning weekend.

1.     A signature sheet acknowledging the understanding of and agreement to comply with the canning rules and regulations signed by every organization member who will be canning (attached to this email)

2.     A completed canning checklist (attached to this email)

3.     An instructional pre-canning meeting must be held with the organization members who will be canning.  Fundraising Safety Captains and/or the Rules and Regulations Overall, Mairead Hanna must be informed of the time and place at which this meeting is taking place.

4.     Prior to the Canning Weekend the materials that will be used for canner education (i.e. PowerPoint presentationquizzes, reminder emails, etc.) must be approved by any of the previously listed persons – to do so, simply email any of the aforementioned persons or fundraisi...@thon.org

.  These types of materials can be found on THON.org under “Students” and “Documents.”

You can turn in any of these materials to the THON Office or to the Rules and Regulations Captains during Materials Distribution.  If all of the above steps are followed, and your organization is not involved in any incidents for the remaining canning weekends, your organization will be eligible to gain back up to half of the funds that were lost.

We feel that this is a way for you to not only regain the funds, but to take the opportunity to fully educate your members about safe and legal canning and better your organization overall.

We hope that you take advantage of this opportunity, and feel free to contact fundraisi...@thon.org with any questions, concerns, or materials related to the above measures.

Enjoy the rest of your break!

FTK,
