Is FunF dead?

To me it looks like it.

v0.5 is just broken (Issue 106, 107) and there are numerous other bugs and quirks for v0.4 (e.g. Issue 103, 104, 105, this post)

The last commit was over a year ago and it also looks like the issue list isn't actively maintained.

Has anyone a suggestion for an alternative to FunF?

Is that still the most recent version of it?  Trying to decide if I should use funf, or this: https://github.com/xsenselabs, or just build my own.

Funf is works good and flexible to configure. I have been using ,5 version.
