GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!! i am sitting in this hipster café in my neighborhood, which if you know anything about my neighborhood (i'm about to tell you), is HILARIOUS! aside from "the chipped cup cafe," i live in a land of kfc/taco bells, dunkin donuts/baskin robbins, and crown fried chickens where the cashiers stand behind bullet proof glass and you have to slide your money under a little opening above the counter. this is the sort of place where hipsters write in their roommate-hunting craigslist ads, "there are soooo many cheap bodegas and fruit stands around! it's AWESOME!" without mentioning that in the morning when you want to leave your apartment, you might have to physically shove your way past the rude teenagers sitting on your stoop, who don't even acknowledge your presence or move for you at all! NOT that i experienced that this morning or anything. 

anyway. tom waits is playing and there's a "garden" out back but something about a place that sells $4 being two storefronts away from dunkin donuts, where i can get a giant iced coffee for $3, is super funny to me. also i'm %100 all of the white people in this area have a 6th sense about this cafe, because the only time i ever really see any is here.

SO my internship is not hiring at the mo but i did get an amex giftcard...so mama's going shopping later. HERE'S a funemployed fact: the laundry machine in my building only takes quarters, but i often use quarters during those times when i have no other money (i paid for an entire meal in quarters last week, granted it was like $4 BUT STILL), so now i am at critical mass with my laundry and i'm going shopping this afternoon not because i really need new clothes, but because i don't have any quarters with which to do my laundry...

lkadfj;ladfgHAHAHHAA YOUR LAUNDRY SITUATION oh my god that is a hilarious/wonderful/awful quandary to be in. I had never even thought about quarters being a precious commodity but you are so right.

wah sorry to hear about your internship, but maybe they'll have opportunities in the future. fingers crossed! and YAAAY GIFT CARDS. omg girl you should just go somewhere and ask to switch a roll of quarters for, i think it's $10? or buy gum but get cash/change back in all quarters. i know how laundry goes. then again, sometimes going to vs and doing 5 for $25 is easier, too. and it's retail therapy.

oh my god one of driving forces in life is always making sure I have clean undies, so I stg I'm having pains over just reading this, haha.  And while it sucks that the internship didn't turn into anything more long term, fuck yes retail therapy!!!

HAHAHA i do have clean underwear guys, don't worry. i have been handwashing them ... TMI. but yeah it is more like i am actually nearly out of real clothing to wear. and i only brought up enough stuff for the summer as it is so LOL i have been piecing together the craziest shit over the last week.
