ActionAid International (AAI) is a unique partnership of people
working in over 50 countries worldwide. In Asia, AAI works in ten
countries including Thailand. ActionAid Thailand has been working with
people and communities in the country for nearly 10 years addressing
issues related to poverty and human rights. We are looking for an
ambitious and dynamic Country Director who will lead and manage the
process of transformation and growth of our organisation in Thailand.
With the support and guidance of the Thai Board composed of credible
and committed personalities from Thai society, the Country Director
will have the opportunity to further develop ActionAid Thailand into a
more effective and influential organisation mobilising and
facilitating Thai citizens’ actions for poverty eradication, human
rights and social justice. We are looking for candidates with the
following qualities and competencies:

Country Director - ActionAid Thailand

 Degree level education related to social science or management
 At least 5 years of relevant senior-level experience of working in
non-profit or social development organisation
 Deep understanding of the issues related to poverty, human rights
and social justice in Thailand and Southeast Asia
 Deep personal commitment to social justice and equality –
particularly to women’s and minority rights and equality
 Excellent leadership and management ability to build and grow a new
team and organisation
 Ambition and ability to persuade and mobilise Thai citizens to give
financial and non-financial support to the cause of poverty
eradication, social justice and equality in Thailand and abroad
 Excellent inter-personal and communication (in Thai and English
languages) skills.

This is a senior level appointment based in Bangkok with frequent
national and international travel with a competitive remuneration
package offered under AAI‘s international terms and conditions with an
initial three year contract.
