Dear Fundraisers,

You may have noticed that it's been a while since I posted to the FIT google group. This is because for the past two months I have been riding my bicycle through over 2500kms in Thailand, to raise money for Oxfam Australia. So far I have raised over $1500 to help the victims of Haiti. If you wish to support my journey you can do so here

The journey has been wonderful, and I truly believe that the road has led me to this point where I am standing now for a very good reason. I have decided not to return to Bangkok but to continue riding into China on the 19th February, cycling towards Beijing to take the train to Russia/Europe later in the year. I am going alone this time, so it will be a new and very unique experience.

The past 1.5 years of coordinating the FIT network have been a delight, and I have enjoyed getting to know and learn from you all. The network has grown from 6 to over 80 members and has been recognized by the international fundraising community as a source of knowledge about fundraising in this region. Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement during this time.

In 2010 FIT will share with you some exciting new developments such as a the network's first publication - a report on 'Giving in Thailand' - and a possible fundraising training is in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled in the next couple of months.

Although I am no longer going to be associated with the FIT Network, I hope it will continue to flourish as a way for fundraisers to share knowledge and collaborate. If you have any questions, opportunities or job openings for FIT members please continue to post them to the google group by sending an email to fundraisers...@googlegroups.com

Ruth and Nui will continue to act as the FIT coordinators and can be contacted on: ruth....@gmail.com, roat...@gmail.com

Wishing you peace, joy and much fundraising success in 2010!

Hannah

Hello Hannah,

I haven't been in touch for a while, sorry for that. But I've been following your path till Pai.
Amazing trip you've been able to do for an almost newbie !
And so, now, it looks like you get addicted. I've heard that cycling develops some kind of natural chemicals (or whatever) in your body. So, now you're on drugs ... but a good one.
Too bad that you leave Bangkok but I wish you good luck for your journey to Beijing. It is certainly going to be awesome.
Stay tuned and give some news please.

Cheers... from a cold Paris

Xtof
