We just finished our first SparkCamp here in Paris. While I think it
has been useful for many startups, it has been possibly for reasons
specific to Europe (entrepreneurs were happy to meet serial
entrepreneurs or angel investors in an informal setting).
On the same week-end, there was Startup School -
http://startupschool.org
- organized by BASES and YCombinator. I haven't been able to look at
the videos yet, but it looked like a gigantic event.
There is Startup Camp San Francisco organized by Sun coming soon on
May 4-5 -

Did anyone attended Startup School?
Will anyone go to Startup Cam SF?
We see a lot of these kind of events popping up every where. That's
great and I think we probably need more of these. I'm curious though
if we have already seen a powerful format emerged that could be turned
into an open format, easy to replicate (the intent of SparkCamp).
I think that these camps for startup could be one of the missing
elements to ease the way in the organization of FundCamps around the
world. Maybe having an open SparkCamp format could also be of value
for PACTFund.
Cheers,
Frederic
