Why Scripture Should Make Us More Careful About Certainty

Scripture gives believers strong reasons for conviction, but Scripture also teaches humility.

Some doctrines are central and clear.

Some passages remain genuinely difficult.

A mature reader should know the difference.

Overstating certainty can create unnecessary division and make human interpretation sound as authoritative as the text itself.

Careful certainty is stronger than careless certainty.

Say clearly what Scripture clearly says.

Hold debated details with enough humility to keep studying.
