Hi Hemandra,

I have seen that Umpires in SPL not asking the bowler instead they
wait for the bowler to bowl and then try call it a no ball. The
batsman should know only two things Right arm / left arm and Over the
wicket / Round the wicket. The bowler may forgets unintentionally to
tell the side to the umpire. This should not constitute a noball. Even
if it is not told to the batsman he knows how the bowler is bowling by
looking at the non striker. The only thing he will not know is right
arm or left arm which the umpire should tell or the atleast the
batsman should ask if umpire forgets.

In SPL, My personal opinion is that the umpire should tell it and if
umpire misses then the batsman should ask the umpire if in doubt
before the bowler bowls. Just not telling the side by bowler should
not constitute a noball.

Sudhakar

I have checked internet and it says that it is the umpires responsibility to find out what the bowler intends to bowl and inform the batsman. The ball is called a no ball only if the bowler suddenly bowls something different without notifying the umpire eg. bowling left arm when he has bowled with right arm the previous deliveries.
>>> What i understood is that the idea is not to victimize the bowler but to inform the batsman about the bowlers style and it is umpires responsibility to find out.
