Got my Letter to the Editor published on Tuesday (3rd one down)
http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20131022_Letters_to_the_Editor.html
and I'll put out a piece on all the replies I got to it, but just gotta say that I find it endlessly amusing to have right-wingers start off their letters to me by talking about how we lefties are so clueless and uninformed and generally out of it, only to then have them say things like our President doesn't even want to restrain government spending.
Heck, not only does he want to restrain government spending, Investor's Business Daily agrees that he wants to do so too much! So I just put up the contradictingr statement and gave a link to it.

PA Greens call Shutdown "Failure of 2 Party System"

GREEN PARTY OF PENNSYLVANIAhttp://www.gpofpa.org/

http://www.gpofpa.org/2013/10/16/green-party-calls-shutdown-failure-of-two-party-system/

The Green Party of Pennsylvania www.gpofpa.org holds the inherent flaw of the two party system responsible for the government “shutdown” which curtailed services, furloughed employees and forced others to work without pay.

The Republican and Democratic Parties blame each other, but they are playing the same game. Gerrymandering protects candidates from electoral challenge. Democrats are put in one district, Republicans in another and they concede races to each other. Entire states are “red” or “blue” leaving only a few “battleground” states to determine national elections.

It is the working people who are hurt by this and other policies such as sequestration. These parties hold the people over a barrel and threaten healthcare, Medicare, Social Security and other benefits of a civil society. Meanwhile the politicians get unconscionable salaries, unsustainable pensions and world class healthcare.

---

It is worth noting that Republican Senator Toomey and three non area PA reps voted to extend the government shutdown and default on the US debt. Hard to imagine he supposedly once worked on Wall Street since had this happened, the market would have plunged dramatically. And even worse that Democrat David Cohen at Comcast would have a fundraiser for him. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/big_tent/Dem-powerbroker-Cohen-raising-cash-for-Toomey.html.

Thanks Marlene!
Collected all of the replies at
http://prawnworks.net/blog-131022-lte.pdf
Lengthy, it comes out to 20 pages. One of the critics may still have further comments. I might update further if he does.
