Gail is doing a fantastic job with our new E-Circle. I want to share this
week's message. God is working among us in many and various way to share
the Good News!

Last night I attended Rachel Circle and our youth director Chad Rogers, our
FUMC Youth Director, gave our program. Chad is excited about working with
our youth and shared the summer activities, and how he came to FUMC. He
also shared he will be a Father soon as the due date is June 17, on Father's
Day.... Sue Martin gave an inspiring devotion quoting Jesus from the
Scriptures with inspiring promises from the Bible. Report of the Mother's
Banquet was given and great thanks to Ann Maxwell and Rachel Circle for
orchestrating this again this year...for the 10th time. Our thanks and
'Hats Off' to Ann and Rachel Circle.
Tomorrow the Lunch Bunch meets with the college ladies and they will make
fleece blankets...from 9:00 to 12:00.
We are a busy bunch of UMW ladies!
Thank you!

Juanita

> Good Morning eLIZABETH Circle Members,
>
> This week's devotion comes from out own, Debbie McIlwain. She sent this
> to me recently and it triggered a thought, as the Psalms are mentioned
> several times in this.
>
> Psalms made me think about the Mid-State District Spiritual Growth Retreat
> on June 16 at Rocheport UMW. Our unit president, Juanita Rampy, is the
> district spiritual growth coordinator and she has chosen the Psalms as the
> basis of the retreat. Several members of our church's UMW are planning to
> attend and will take the church bus to Rocheport. The meeting begins
> about 9:30 and should be over by 2. A lunch is provided by the Rocheport
> UMW and the cost is $5. If you would like to attend, let me know. All you
> will need to bring is your Bible and a fresh cut flower for an activity
> Juanita has planned.
>
> Now to the meditation. Embedded in it is what I call a "chain letter"
> request for forwarding. Since I was not able to edit that out, it is
> still there. That is not the reason for my sharing this. However, the
> graphics and the information and the words from the "center of the Bible"
> are the reasons I am sharing this.
>
> I want to thank Debbie for sending this with me. I encourage all of you
> to share any meditation which particularly moves you. A circle works best
> when everyone brings forth something.
>
> Next Monday is Memorial Day. Historically it was a day to honor the dead
> of World War I and the deceased members of your family, as I recall. It
> was named "Armistice Day and Decoration Day" when I was a child. On this
> day, the cemeteries were filled with families that came to remove the dead
> leaves of winter from the graves and "decorate" them the fresh flowers of
> spring.
>
> I will be making the annual cemetery trip with my sister-in-law, Julie.
> We are carrying on the tradition which her parents began years ago. My
> father-in-law would make beautiful planters for all of the graves. Then
> on Memorial Day, my mother-in-law, Virginia, Jim and I and sometimes a
> grandchild would make the rounds. It always ended by stopping somewhere
> for lunch. It was always a place with great fried chicken, as that was
> Jim's ( and now my grandson's) favorite meal. Julie and I will stop for
> lunch but it will more likely be for Mexican. Virginia's favorite place
> was Taco Bell. :):):)
>
> What memories and traditions do you have in your family? Feel free to
> share.
>
> Blessings,
