Good afternoon friends,

Please see this request for help from the Highland Lakes Crisis Network. If you can step in to help, the contact information is included:

Hello All!

You are receiving this email because you have put in a volunteer form in the past few months or have been involved with HLCN.

It is a blessing for us to partner alongside you as the local churches rise up together to love our neighbors in a big way! To date, with your help, we have been able to serve over 30,518 meals to those in need in Burnet and Llano Counties! Thank you for being willing to serve!

We are about to embark on a new ministry outreach to the more than 130 families on our list for deliveries. We are hoping to partner each of these families with a consistent "shepherd" for the duration of this event. The responsibilities would include:

  1. Establish a relationship with the family (by phone) and visit with them consistently, at least once per week for the next few months.
  2. Be a support and friend, assess for further needs, be supportive and report back to HLCN with findings.
  3. Be willing to pray with the family (if they are willing) and discuss some topics of faith with them (at least at a surface level) and communicate back with us if more support is needed.
  4. You don't have to have the answers for everything, just be willing to help facilitate the dialogue between us and them and provide a consistent face (or voice in this case) from HLCN and the local church.

We will provide a weekly script of questions to ask and things to report back about and will provide some resources in regard to helping answer some basic elements of faith conversations. We will also provide a short training / orientation in the next few days. We need about 140 of these folks (many spanish speaking only), so if you know of others who might be interested, please pass this along.

If you are willing to help us with this, would you please reply back to this email and let us know?

Whether you commit to this outreach or not, please pray for these conversations, the shepherds, and the families we are reaching!

In Service,

Kevin
