Good morning friends,
Thanks so much for your amazing efforts to support firefighters and other first responders with the Trails Fire last night in Horseshoe Bay. Thanks to members who went and served in food trailer, for members who delivered cases of water and Gatorade to the rehab area. Thanks to all firefighters and first responders for being on those front lines, or for providing other support. Thanks to those who brought water, snacks, fruit and other support items to help sustain those working the fire. And most importantly, thanks to all who prayed for the safety of all involved.
This morning I’m told the fire is contained but firefighters will continue to monitor hot spots for some time. Also, sadly, there is anticipation of other fires because of hot/dry conditions. Consequently, we will continue to accept donations for water and Gatorade for future support so time can be saved and supplies immediately deployed from the church as needed. If you didn’t get to help last night and would like to do so in incidents in the future, you can donate drinks in the coming days to be stored at the church for such needs.
One final thought: please remember when these events occur to check on our neighbors and friends who live in the endangered areas. Offer assistance, prayer and love to those whose homes and lives might be at risk. We have many friends and members who live in the HSB area. Today would be a good time to call and check on them.
It is a blessing and honor to serve our God and as your Pastor. Thank you for your continued faithfulness.
Love and blessings
Ellen
