SITREP: 15kWh/(m2a) is the goal, Evolutionary multi-objective optimization and computation engines, Machine learning, stochastic gradient descent and swarm optimization are the hopeful means to reduce the time it takes, materials expended, and costs related to make what I believe is a basic human right (a warm, dry, comfortable place to live and work) easier to attain, faster to design and more accessible throughout the world.

Bronwyn Barry was kind enough to share Her work on Passive House Optimization, and has breathed a bit of needed structure to my personal shenanigans: chasing dreams of live synced, EMOOAE integrated parametric workflow for Passive House design and optimization. The project so far, piggybacking off of Wallacei, IDF2PH, and Ladybug tools; and insights from work done by Bronwyn Barry; is currently at the following state.

The current state as seen below; PHI certified construction element performance and dimensional data (floor, wall, glazing and frames) as 'variables' (gene pools), as well as glazing placement, a reasonable roof crest height range, and up to 20% variation in building orientation.

Current game plan and to-do list: Create working templates to assist Architects, designers, consultants, anyone and everyone who would want them; in Passive House design and development via the Flying Spaghetti Monster (if there is interest of course), Set up Git repo to share gh docs, files, components ect. Set up templates to allow for financial variables to be assigned with material and component options as an objective to be minimized. Working on a .py to run via runpythonscript in rhino; to build via srfcs a Rhino model from existing filled out PHPPs. Most importantly, have fun.

My previous Rhino 6 commercial licence was property of a previous extra curricular occupational entity. I am looking for work to fund a non demo Rhino Licence, PH conference admissions, more ISO publications and at some point an ArchiCAD24 licence as to gain access to the ArchiCAD API. (I really want to be able to set ArchiCAD composites in Grasshopper, try and streamline things a bit with the Ladybug/IDF2PH workflow and ArchiCAD. I have ADHD, being able to maximize momentum via automation helps keep from falling down rabbit holes and getting distracted.. and as always try to enable as much grasshopper based everything that is possible). Two more years until freedom from my current contractual obligations, and then hopefully Full time AEC shenanigans!
