The no BYO policy has always been there afaik. I regularly bring 2 water bottles in my bag to keep my voice for the 3 hour sessions, my friends bring in all sorts of food sometimes as well. They won't care. And what's the worst that could happen? I'd say just don't flaunt it.

I have a Honkie friend who used to always go to karaoke in Sydney, he would pay like $40 to whoever hired the room an that included all their drinks... i think it was at world square or around there... though i dropped by once to perve on the girls..(i have yellow fever) and the room wasnt large, maybe about 12 people could fit.
