Dear FUMA support team,

I am writing to report an issue I have been experiencing with the SNP2GENE function. Each time I upload my file and submit the job, the uploading process continues for at least one hour. However, when I later return to check the progress, I consistently see an “access denied” error page (possibly error 403, not in “My Jobs” tab, just denied error page is viewed), and I am unable to view any results.

The file I uploaded was a .gz file smaller than 460 MB, so I don’t think file size should be the problem. In addition, the job does not even appear in the record list — it seems that the submission never gets properly registered, rather than failing at the running stage. This issue has only started since the recent server maintenance/update.

Could you please advise what might be causing this problem, and if there are any steps I should take to resolve it?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,

Hyojin Pyun

Hi Hyojin,

First, the recent maintenance that was done between September 12-15 was due to IT upgrading the infrastructure. It did not affect FUMA in terms of functionality.

Second, unfortunately I cannot replicate your issues on my end, because I have not had any issues running FUMA since last week.

Third, there have been >2600 successfully jobs submitted to FUMA since September 15 so I don't think that this is a widespread problem.

Maybe you can try this:
  1. Only click the "Submit Job" once.

  2. Try using a different browser and/or hard refresh the page. (Ctrl + shift + r)

  3. Try using VPN.

  4. Try a personal computer from a home network. (Sometimes networks in working environments are very strict)

Best,
Tanya
