Dear FUMA team,

I have a confusion regarding how to understand IndSigSNP and rsID in GWAScatalog (in SNP2GENE result tables section).

I understand that IndSigSNP is from my input GWAS result file and FUMA collects available publications/traits related with this snp.

But how to understand that one IndSigSNP has more than one matches with different bp/rsIDs? For example in the attached figure, IndSigSNP rs140244541 has several sips in rsID column like rs72932727, rs76122535, rs74675536, etc. What's the relationship between IndSigSNP rs140244541 and those SNPs in rsID column? Thanks.

Best,

Yuhan

Dear Yuhan,

My apologies for this late reply. The IndSigSNP is the lead SNP of the genomic locus.
Inside this locus there are SNPs which pass genome wide significance level and were reported by previous studies (eg. rs72932727, rs76122535, rs74675536) which are denoted by the rsID and the study they belong to.

Cheers,

Marijn
