Dear Kyoko,

I have been using the GENE2FUNC portion of FUMA-GWA, it seems like an extremely useful tool!

When using the GENE2FUNC function I was able to generate results for a gene-set against a background of all protein-coding genes. However, I have had a repeated error of "Summary table error" when I attempt to use a pre-defined list of background genes. The same error occurs when entering the list manually or when I upload a text document list.

I was wondering if it is possible that the input list is too small (710 genes)? Or is this a bug with the application?

Best,
Sebastian May-Wilson

Hi Sebastian,

The number of background genes does not matter but it has to include genes that you want to test.
If you didn't include the testing genes could you try including them?
If you still get the same error, could you share your GENE2FUNC job ID? I'll have a look from the server side.

PS. I'm sorry but the host server is currently down, I'm working on it but might take some time to be back online.

Best,
Kyoko

Hi Kyoko,

I initially did try to run the jobs with the background list including the genes I wanted to test (I actually then tried to remove them from the background list because I thought that might be the issue, but then obviously that also didn't work).

The two job IDs where I tried to run the list against the full background list (including the genes of interest) are: 27473 and 27474

Thanks for looking into this!
Best,
Seb

Hi Seb,

I'm sorry for the delay.
I found a minor bug causing your problem.
I fixed them and updated the results for 27473 and 27474.
You should be able to load the results now and future submission should work fine.

Best,
Kyoko
