Dear Kyoko,

I have submitted jobs with id 32847 and id 33218. In my results, gene snoU13 has been mapped to ENSG00000238822 (on chromosome 12) and ENSG00000238626 (on chromosome X). In both of my jobs, this ambiguous results appeared. Do you know the reason of getting such results?

Best,
Jing

Hi Jing,

In FUMA, Ensembl Gene ID is the primary ID and I extracted gene symbol using BioMart but especially for non protein-coding genes, there are non-unique gene symbols.
The gene you mentioned has the same symbol but different Ensembl ID, so they are different genes.
Symbols are not always unique so please use ensembl ID for the analysis.
But those genes might also have aliases so if you search by Ensembl ID, you might be able to find different gene symbols which can be unique to each gene.

Best,
Kyoko
